An Entrepreneurship Development Programme is conducted for six weeks durations.
Detailed information on investment climate in the State and district, institutional
setup, with their role/schemes/ procedures and formalities, various opportunities
in various manufacturing and service ventures, project formulation and project report
preparation were given. The officials/experts engaged in the field of industrial
development and agencies provide the information about Govt. Schemes, infrastructure
facilities/finance to entrepreneurs. .
Since in a small-scale enterprise an entrepreneur has to look after every functional
area, detail inputs were given on business communication, MIS, personnel management,
marketing management, sales and advertisement, financial management, working capital
management, cost consciousness, profitability, inventory control & ISO 9002 etc.
To make the trainees aware about the actual working of small-scale unit and understand
well the shop floor activities, they are taken for the visit of nearby industrial
areas. Under social responsibility and entrepreneurial discipline phase lecturers
are given on standardisation by Consumer rights protection, Pollution Control and
Environment, Factory Acts, Labour Laws and other various laws governing small-scale
industries/ service units. In the session for “interaction with successful entrepreneur”
they learnt about practical difficulties, causes of failure etc. and remedies to
overcome that.
The programmes consists of Management Inputs, Technical Inputs, Opportunity Guidance,
Surveys, Knowledge of Laws, Government Schemes, Motivational Inputs, Personality
Development, Experience Sharing, Project Report Preparation and Feasibility Appraisal,
Knowledge and procedures of Financing Institutions and experience in Market Survey
and Marketing Management. The focus is on concerted and coordinated approach. The
participants are provided with opportunity of interacting with the faculty and guests
on one to one basis and participate in group discussions. Efforts are made to use
latest technology in teaching by way of use of computers, LCD projectors, AV system,
material download from internet etc.
They are given a model project with requisite parameters; requirements
etc. and each trainee prepare a detailed project report.
